BitTorrent Site FilePorn.org Shutting Down

LOS ANGELES — The administrator of FilePorn.org on Thursday said that the porn BitTorrent site is shutting down.

The site's admin, "The Porn Lord," said that after six years online, the site is facing legal action.

“Unfortunately we have to terminate our tracker services due to a ‘copyright infringements’ lawsuit,” the site said in an announcement. “There isn’t much we can do but comply to their terms.”

There will be no "comeback" from the FilePorn admin or moderators. The Porn Lord, in his announcement, said the site always had money problems.

News of the closure of one of the longest-running porn BitTorrent sites comes in the wake of the closure of Cheggit.

Porn Guardian's Dominic Ford said that with  the closure of many filesharing hosts, pirates are retreating back underground to torrents and Usenet groups.

"The more underground piracy gets, the more 'normal' people will turn to legal content because it will be easier to get and will come without the fear of viruses and spam that come from these underground sources," Ford told XBIZ. "As torrents close as well, new torrent solutions that don't require tracker files are also coming online.

"As quickly as we are working to defeat piracy, the hacker community is finding ways to be reborn. But casual users, who are potential customers (versus hackers who will never pay for content) are not going to recede underground because it's too complicated. It is our hope they will instead look for content legally."

Nevertheless, Ford said that he is pleased that tracking sites like Fileporn and other pirates from all walks of the Internet are meeting their fates.

"Be it illegal blogs, file-sharing sites paying pirates for popular files or torrent sites allowing its members to download files illegally from others' computers, the operators of these sites know their days are numbers," he said.

"We just shut down the popular site GayFilesMonster.com, and it took a concerted international group of people, all sitting above the ISP level, to make it happen.

"The international community of pirates, who thought they were out of reach of American justice, see now that international groups are working together to restore local and national economies. This means stopping piracy."
